Please have all garbage, recyclable and yard waste items at the curb by 6:00am on your day of pickup.

CART SERVICE:

Included in your service is the use of one 95 gallon cart for rubbish. The carts are the property of Rock River Disposal, and must remain at your service address if you move or vacate the property. Rock River Disposal will repair any damage or replace the cart if the damage is caused by our collection activities or normal wear and tear.

95 Gallon Cart for Household Refuse: Please use this cart for all of your “normal” household waste. Do not mix recyclables or yard waste in with your household waste.

If you have too much household waste to fit into the 95 gallon cart, you may set out additional garbage cans or plastic bags (34 gallon size, not to exceed 50 pounds in weight) for collection. There will be no charge for the collection of this additional waste; however, it must be contained within garbage cans or bags as outlined above. Competitors carts will not be emptied.

The following items are not considered “household waste” and are not eligible for collection: broken concrete, stone, sod, dirt, firewood, tires, hazardous waste, car batteries or large volumes of construction or demolition debris such as drywall, lumber, flooring, etc. Please contact Rock River Disposal directly in advance to arrange the collection of any of these special items.

Included in your service is the collection of “bulk items” each week. A bulk item is any item (excluding the above ineligible items) which is too large to fit into the 95 gallon cart or your garbage cans. Examples include, but are not limited to, sofas, recliner chairs, tables, box springs, mattresses, dressers, toilets, windows and carpeting. Carpeting must be prepared in secured 3 foot long rolls. Appliances are also accepted as bulk items but should be called in ahead of time to our office to help us recycle and divert them from the waste stream.

Bulk items shall not include: any item that contains or has contained PCB, mercury, CFC, HCFC refrigerant gas, any item containing a hazardous material; and/or construction and demolition debris. Collection of some of these items requires an additional fee and must be arranged in advance with Rock River Disposal.

18 Gallon Recyclable Bin: Please use this bin for all of your recyclable materials. These materials should be clean, but they do not need to be separated – all of the following are eligible for recycling and may be comingled in the recycling container:

* Junk Mail

* Catalogs

* Telephone Books

* Magazines

* Plastics Coded 1-7*

* Glass Bottles & Jars

* Metal Cans

* Tin, Aluminum & Bi-Chipboard

* We cannot accept plastic bags, Styrofoam, 6 pack rings, oil containers as well as some other items. If you have a question as to whether or not an item is recyclable, please contact our office.

YARD WASTE COLLECTION – APRIL 1ST THROUGH NOVEMBER 30TH

Included in your monthly service fee is seasonal collection of two bags or 34 gal. cans of yard waste materials (grass clippings, leaves, weeds, twigs no longer than 4″ in diameter and bundled no longer than 3′ in length.) not to exceed 50 lbs. Dirt and sod are not accepted. Biodegradable brown paper bags are the preferred containers for yard waste; however, we will also collect yard waste from garbage cans that you supply that are clearly marked on the side with a large “X” (use paint, duct tape or a similar durable material). Additional bags or cans of yard waste, after the two included ones, will require a sticker for each bag or can.  Stickers can be purchased at the True Value Hardware store in Roscoe.

PLACEMENT OF CARTS:

On collection morning please place your carts no further than 3’ away from the curb. Please do not place the carts next to mailboxes or behind parked cars. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

HOLIDAYS:

There will be no collection on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day or whenever the disposal facility is closed. If your pick-up falls on or after these holidays, collection will be one (1) day later. If any of the above holidays fall on a weekend, your pickup day will be unaffected.
