A fast-growing, family-oriented community on the outskirts of Rockford, the Village of Cherry Valley is proudly served by Rock River Disposal.

New Service Options (both include Unlimited Recycle and Yard Waste)

1 Can Option: if you use only one 32 gallon can or bag per week this option is offered at a reduced rate of 1.50 per quarter.

Tote Option: for an additional $2.00 per month a resident has the option to rent a 95 gallon Rock River Disposal tote. This option gives the equivalent of three standard size cans per week.

TRASH

Household trash has a two 32 gallon can or two 32 gallon bag limit:

* One bulk item per week is included. (Extra bags or cans are not bulk items.)

* Stickers can be purchased for $1.50 for extra bags or cans

* Bulk stickers can be purchased for $6.00 for extra bulk items

* Cans or bags not to be more than 50 lbs in weight

RECYCLING

Household recycling is unlimited, as long as properly contained.

* A brown recycle bin is provided for new residents

* There is a $8.00 charge for extra brown bins billed to the resident

* All newspapers, aluminum cans, cardboard cut down to 2′x2′ in size, tin cans and plastic 1 – 7 and glass bottles are accepted

* Residents may use a 32 gallon garbage can for recycle if the can is clearly marked with the word “RECYCLE” or a recycling symbol

YARD WASTE

Household yard waste is unlimited, as long as properly contained. Yard Waste season runs typically from the beginning of April to the end of November.

* Yard waste is all grass clippings, leaves, and small branches (no bigger than 4″ in diameter) from residential property

* All trimmings from bushes and tree branches should be cut to 3′-4′ lengths and bundled and not over 50 lbs. in weight

* 32 gallon cans with an X or brown paper bags should be used for yard waste not to exceed 50 lbs. in weight
